Fabric Collage with Nancy Ryan (Reno)

Fabric Collage is a technique of cutting and arranging pieces of fabric that are cut into free-form shapes and applied to a background fabric. If you wish to create a quilt like my sample, a pattern will be provided. If you have an inspirational photo blown up to the size that you would like to create with this technique, instructions will be given for you to be successful. Once the arrangement is complete and applied to your background, quilting instructions will be on how to quilt the piece to give it interest and depth. This is a very intuitive process that is a lot of fun to do and has very few rules. It is for all skill levels and the layout can be completed in this (3) day workshop.

Mixing it up! Autumn Falling Leaves is a great wall hanging to bring the fall season into your home. It is created with using traditional and non-traditional quilting fabrics. The more you mix it up, the better it looks. The process of cutting leaves and arranging them in a pleasing design creates a wonderful wall quilt. In addition, once your arrangement is the way you like it, you will fuse the leaves down and quilt them. A pattern for the leaves I used in my sample will be available to students who sign up for the workshop. I always encourage students to bring their own creativity to my workshops. Quilting will be discussed to give your piece interest and depth.

Mystery Quilt 2025

Join us for this 5-month Mystery Project! Each month you will receive a "clue" to the Mystery. If all fabrics are purchased from Sierra Sewing, Quilting and Vacuums, the class fee will be refunded in the form of a Gift Card. If you can?t make the group meetings, the next clue with instructions and a short video tutorial will be emailed to you. This is a fun project that can be completed by all skill levels.
